Friends of Ewell Grove (FOEG)
We are a friendly group of parents, grandparents, carers and teachers with an aim to raise money for our school, having as much fun as possible in the process!
As an active parent/teacher association at Ewell Grove Primary School we work together developing strong links between the school and the local community and raise valuable funds for the educational benefit of the pupils. We meet on a regular basis to discuss ideas and organise fundraising events.
Whilst some events are more profitable that others, raising money isn’t always our sole objective. Encouraging relationships between the school and the community is key. We have great connections with the businesses in Ewell Village and the surrounding areas.
We are a friendly enthusiastic group where nobody’s contribution is too small! Every penny raised directly benefits your child.
How can you help?
Being a member of the FOEG is not only rewarding, fun and sociable but a great way to meet new friends and learn how the pupils and teachers of Ewell Grove Primary school benefit from our fundraising.
There are many different ways you can help, whether you have lots of time to offer or not. None of our events would be a success without the parents and children who attend and take part.
We are always in need of volunteers whether or not its the running of stalls at events such as the Christmas and Summer Fairs, helping to serve cakes at a cake sale or serving refreshments at various open days and children’s performances. Even if you can only offer half an hour of your time, this will be greatly appreciated.
What do we do?
Along with holding annual Summer and Christmas fairs we also run Quiz Nights for the growns up throughout the school year. These are hugely popular and the last one raised over £500. This is a great chance for parents and carers to get together outside of the school playground.
The FOEG also run a school disco for the children in the Spring term is has proved to be very popular amongst kids of all ages.
How have the children benefited?
In December 2017 our Cinderfella panto, performed by parents and teachers of the school, raised nearly £5000 to go towards kitting out the new school hall with super snazzy lighting and sound equipment.
Our Christmas Fair raised over £3000 and our Summer Fair raised over £4000.
In the Spring we helped organise bubble bursting, Easter Egg hunt, toy sale and school disco which is highly popular among the children.
In previous years our fundraising has paid for a new outside classroom, computers for every classroom, interactive whiteboards for each classroom, P.E. equipment and much, much more!
We are always delighted to hear from anybody who would like to get involved, no matter how much or how little you can do, whether that is behind the scenes helping us with things that can be done at home or helping out at one or more of our many events. To join, please email email@example.com and mark it for the attention of FOEG.
